How To Retrieve Paths To Multiple Sd Cards - Internal & External

I ran into a seemingly simple issue to which i cannot find an answer. The application i am working on needs to read/write data from/to the sd card. All the resourcess are located in a folder rigth on the root of the sd card. To obtain the absolute path to my resources directory.

I wrote something like this:

Which results into something like:

This works just fine for most devices. However, there is the samsung galaxy s which has 2 sd cards, one internal, and one external. Using the code above, i get the path to the internal sd card. The path to the external card is "/sdcard/sd/" (where i belive "sd" is just the mount point).

Is there any api that i don't find which returns a list of paths to multiple sd cards (if available). Or is there any other way to scan both cards for the existence of my resources folder without hardcoding it myself. Note that changing the location of the resources dir is not an option.

Samsung Galaxy S - How To Move Pics From Internal To Sd Memory Cards

I have a t-mobile galaxy s t-959 and this is the first time i have ever had a smart phone. My internal memory storage is being used up by apps and pics, i bought a 4g sd card and replaced the 2g with the new one. I found out how to have all my new pics stored on the sd card but how do i move all my pics from internal storage to the new sd card? Step by step i am not very tech wise. Second question can i move other things to the sd card other than pics or videos?

Motorola Droid - Not Recognized As An Internal External Command

I just rooted my droid using this guide, installed busybox then made a custom recovery. I know how to use the change directory properly cause i did it enough times doing those things, so i'm pretty sure it's not that.

After that my command prompt stopped working for me when i wanted to start doing stuff. It gives me that error; "not recognized as an internal external command, operable program or batch file"
I'm not sure why it's not working for me, not a tech savy guy really, just know how to follow tutorials.
I'm thinking it may be my path variable needs to be fixed some how, but i don't know much else about it, so i haven't touched it.

Samsung Moment - Multiple Sd Cards As Backup

After reading about rooting my moment, it seems most changes are made to files on the sd card.
I have the original sd card that came with the phone and i use a larger capacity card in the phone. Question is, if i had to take the phone to sprint after rooting, could i just put the original card in the phone and recover to factory? Or is it more complicated than that?

Basically, stock phone on the original sd card and my rooted phone on the other card.

Edit: found the major error in my thinking.

Reusing Code - Multiple External Namespaces

What's the proper way to share code and layouts between android projects?  (I work with eclipse)

Explanation and my problem:

I'm working in multiple projects that share the same base (an activity-less android project). This project have some graphical classes with its layouts in xml and require both to work properly. Normally i copy this code and change the r. Id definitions on the project to match the current 'sub-project' but, obviously, this is not the proper way of reusing code.

Now i have two eclipse projects, one of them has the 'base' code and the other is the current application. I defined a dependency but it seems that i can refer to the classes from java, but i can't in this other project's layouts. I tried declaring its namespace in xml files, but it doesn't work.

I can't believe the way is copy+paste and search+replace.

Pathshape Not Closing Paths Correctly / Solution For This

I'm having trouble getting paths to close correctly. The problem appears to be consistent from api 8 (android 2. 2) back through api 4(android 1. 6 . Emulators exhibit the problem, as does my 2. 2 phone.

It seems that android doesn't "think" that a path is closed, even though the path starts (via path. Moveto(. )) And ends (via path. Lineto(. )) At exactly the same coordinates.

If i call "path. Closepath()" to ensure that the path is closed, an errant line segment is drawn, which indicates to me that the path is "confused" about being open/closed, or about which point is the beginning/ending point in the path.

A very short but complete application is included below that demonstrates the problem.

**An image of the results is here:**

Htc Desire - Sd Cards & Music

Bought a 32gb micro sd card for my desire to put all music on. As i have a mac, i had to use a back door software program called salling music sync to put all my music onto my desire. In the middle of syncing about 25gb of music, the phone just froze, so took the battery out to reboot it.

Now when i connect the phone to my mac using the usb cable that came with the phone, the option to mount the sd card has disappeared on the phone and my mac wont pick up that the phone has been connected. I have reformatted the phone, nothing, and when i format the sd card, it just says that the 'sd card is safe to remove' and thats it. I've put in another sd card and the same thing happens, so i think its a problem with the handset.

Will they just not run, or does it just depend? Or is this just not something i should be doing?

Htc Incredible - Can Change Sd Cards

My di came and i got the 2gb microsd with it but haven't used it since i ordered a 16gb card . But it won't be here for a few more days. In the meantime, i thought i'd use the 8gb card i had in my dare with all my mp3s on it - not really thinking too much of it . I just wanted to get my music on the phone and thought that was the quickest, easiest way. I don't really remember much about how my di recognized the card but i guess smartphones format the card to work with them. Now my 8gb card will only show directories for /my sounds, /my media, etc. All of my mp3s seem protected (i can't even see the files) and i suppose that's where all of the data for some of the apps that i've already downloaded are as well.

My question is this: when the 16gb card gets here . Can i just insert the new card, re-copy my mp3s to a folder, and be okay - or will the apps that i've got installed fail to work properly (because some of their data is on the old card)? Would i have to reset the phone ( or uninstall all the apps ) to format the new card and re-download all the apps?

How To Use External Jars In Project

I have created an android project and added an external jar (hessian-4. 0. 1. Jar) to my project. I then add the jar to the buildpath and check it of in order and export.

Is there a trick to properly include the needed classes from an external jar when building an android application using the eclipse plug-in. I do not want to use ant of maven.

Retrieve Image Size For Htc Devices

In my application i need to read images file size before reading and send them through the network. Actually it uses the mediastore provider in order to read the size field of the images. All works as expected except for some htc devices (e.g. Legend and desire) where the returned size value is not correct (it seems that only after a device reboot it stores the correct sizes). For that reason i applied a workaround for such devices that makes use of the inputstream. Available() method in order to get the real image size. I know that it is not the best way to do that but i didn't find alternatives.
