Get Root Access In Android Emulator

How to root/get root access in android emulator? I have all android sdk versions(from 1. 5 to 2. 3. 3), and i tried many methods for getting root in android emulator. I don't use any android device and test everything on emulator(avd).

I need to get root access in any one of the android emulator to use the 'iptables' and 'busybox' functionality. And to use iptables i must have root access. Atleast 'su' command should execute in the terminal emulator.

I also installed 'z4root' application, but it takes very long time and doesn't finish rooting, and gets stuck. Some say that if we downgrade the system to below rc30, this way we can get root access. If this is true, then how to do this, i use both linux and windows os.

Below are my android versions and emulator specification::

Motorola Droid X - Missing Applications After Upgrade

Just upgraded to 2. 2. Process was pretty simple, worked without any noticiable issues. After upgrade, i noticed applications that were part of 2. 1 are no longer part of 2. 2. Personally, i wish they removed facebook, but what happened to the application called "corporate"? This application let me view the corporate exchange gal for contacts not local on my phone. Why was this removed?

Motorola Droid - Applications Redownloaded After Reset / Cause Of It

I've noticed that some applications are re-downloaded after both a factory reset and a hard reset. I've tried removing the applications prior to the reset, but this happens anyways, so i was wondering what could be the cause? It's not quite a big deal though, as i can always remove them after resetting the phone.

Motorola Droid - Hard Crash When Applications Use The Gps

This is my second droid (first had a screen issue), so it seems like it's a deeper problem than just a "bum unit". Basically, i've noticed that about 10% of the time that an application i use first accesses the gps, the phone halts and resets itself (reboots). So for example, when i first boot the maps application, around 10% of the time or so (it's not often at all, but often enough to notice), the phone will reset. I've noticed this in a number of applications, and it only happens when the gps is accessed. Some of the applications it happens to include the browser, maps, navigation, golfcard, skymap, gps status and my tracks. I honestly don't remember when it started doing this, but i don't think it happened before the 2. 0. 1 update. It's so infrequent that the first few times it happened, i barely noticed. But it's definately annoying (especially on the golf course. It'll usually crash at least once per round.considering it only enables the gps when i pull up the range finder).

Vpn App For Phone That Does Not Require Rooting

Is there a vpn app for android yet that does not requiring rooting? I won't be messing around with my new incredible on that level (i know enough to know i would probably just screw something up. ) So i would be looking for your standard download-and-go app here.

(Secondary question, doesn't vzw charge extra for exchange email support. Like $10 on top of your data plan?)

Motorola Droid X Root Easy Way

We've already told you that the droid x is rooted. In fact, we gave you some pretty good instructions on how to do it. But, not everyone out there wants to get into the adb shell and put in some command line. And we know where you're coming from. So, if you're still interested in rooting your brand new device and getting rid of some of that bloatware, here's an easy method. Yes. It's easy. Like, one click easy.

Thanks to a few folks over at alldroid, you now get an easyroot method, where it just takes one click to let the software either root, or unroot your droid x. See? We told you it was easy. It just takes a quick download, and then you'll be good to go with whatever you want to do. Of course, now that it's legal to root your phone, who wouldn't want to take advantage of this? And, if you do, let us know in the comments.

Motorola Droid X - Move From Old Root To New

Hey all, i've been super busy lately so i haven't had time to dive into the new updates for my x. I rooted my phone originally using the 1 click method and i am running flyx and the leaked froyo.

My questions are:

Should i move to "upgrade" to the new stuff?
Is there a special way to go from the "old" root to the "new" root?
What is the best "new" root way? (Thinking of using this: one click droid x froyo roooot gui! - Droid x rooting - alldroid public board - one click droid x froyo roooot gui! - Droid x rooting - alldroid public board - alldroid.org > home)
Any detailed instructions and/or links would be greatly appreciated, as i am a bit out of the loop for now.

Motorola Droid X - How To Get Rid Of Root And Get Stock 2.2

I'll try to make this short and sweet. Hopefully some kind soul will help me with this endeavor. Started with stock phone with 2. 1. Installed the easy root 1 click method and rooted phone. Installed the 2. 2 update. Phone was working great at first but now the problems and bugs are getting out of hand. I understand some are running fine and some are also having problems. Mine is having issues that are unbearable.

Reset phone back to factory defaults using the reset feature. Formatted memory card. The phone is still rooted somehow. Did another factory reset. Phone is still rooted. How can i get rid of root and get stock 2. 2 or would it be better to go back to stock 2. 1?If i need to reflash back to 2. 1 can someone please point me to a tutorial?

Motorola Backflip/motoblur - Applications Missing After Repair ?

I recently had to turn my phone in to get the screen repaired. When i got the phone back and went through all the initial options again to set up the phone (which i thought was wierd, i thought it would have saved that information somewhere), none of my applications i had on my phone are anywhere to be found. I do know that i completely forgot to unmount the sd card before removing it, could that be the cause?  Is there any change of salvaging any of the applications from the card, and if so, how?
