Htc Incredible - Unrevoked Forever Tool To Set Your Android Phone's Security Level To S-off

Just got released like 15 minutes ago. Anyone try it yet!?

Public:forever [rootwiki]

Unrevoked forever is a tool to set your android phone's security level to s-off. The security level is a flag stored on the radio; when the flag is s-off, the bootloader (hboot) will no longer check the signatures of firmware images before flashing them. This allows custom firmware images to be uploaded, including unsigned boot, recovery, splash1, and hboot images (as well as official images that have been modified).

Htc Incredible - Where To Get Unrevoked Forever

Just finished installing usb drivers, rooted, and ran nandroid and now want to install unrevoked forever. I've read so many forums today that i can't remember where to get it. Can someone point me in the right direction, and possibly radio 2. 15? Radio should be installed after unrevoked forever correct?

Htc Incredible - Ota - Unrevoked Forever

Htc Incredible - Unrevoked Forever With Jagerrom

I have a rooted incredible using jagerrom 2. 2, but not the updated radio, i still have the same radio as when i got it.

My question is, can i safely use unrevoked forever tool to update my radio, and have the missing features because my radio is not updated for jagerrom?

Or even, can i simply use this tool, update the radio, and just download a new rom? I'm just worried for the fact i already am using jagerrom i guess.

I do have a nandroid back-up from back when i didn't have a custom rom.

Htc Evo 4g - Use Unrevoked Forever

I'll be getting a replacement evo this week or next that will come with 2. 2. Now that 2. 2 root is out, (root 2. 2) i will be able to root this replacement phone.

Looking through the guide it uses unrevoked forever. I dont like the idea of forever. Maybe it's just me. But what does someone gain from unrevoked forever? I used this guide to root my 2. 1 and i was happy with it and i know there is a way back to normal.

I feel like with forever you are trapped with the s-off, and there is no s-on, right? I realize that i can root my 2. 2 with that same guide i used for 2. 1 and i dont have to use uf. But i am just trying to make sure i'm not missing something here. Why use unrevoked forever? What's so great about it anyways?

Htc Evo 4g - Unrevoked Forever - Updates

I looked around this forum and the xda forum, but frankly the xda forum is over my head. Originally used unrevoked, then updated my phone. Used unrevoked3 and unrevoked forever mainly to gain wireless tether. Have root explorer on my phone as well. I followed a long set of instructions to update with no success. So here is what i am currently running -

Firmware 2. 1 update 1
Baseband 2. 05. 00. 06. 10
Software 1. 47. 651. 1

I am considering restoring and starting over so i can update then install unrevoked forever. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Sorry for the noob questions but i a just starting to learn.

Htc Incredible - Wifi Takes Forever To Link

When i flick my wifi widget switch, it takes a long time to find my home wifi network. It will find locked neighbor networks, and then say scanning, for up to 10 minutes before it finally brings up my home super strong signal network and finally joins it. What's the deal with this? Anyone else having similar issues? It makes using wifi basicly useless, because by the time it actually is useable, i could have done everything i wanted to do using the slower 3g speeds.

Htc Incredible - Best Way To Create A Full Backup For Phones Running 2.2

I've looked through several other posts here before adding this question and no one posting seems to get to everything so i'd like to re-ask everyone the question:

How can i backup everything on my phone - and all the apps that are installed on my sd card? Does it require two steps or can one app (or nandroid) do both?

Here's what i've gathered so far:

1) nandroid works for full backup of everything except the apps installed to my sd card. I've read about some nandroid "ext" feature but i don't understand how that works and if it is still relevant for phones running 2. 2 can anyone explain?

2) there's my backup pro and titanium backup but i'm not clear if either of these apps will backup everything that a nandroid backup would do (and include the apps installed to the sd card). Does anyone know?

Htc Incredible - Set Gmail Invites To Be Private By Default On Dinc

Is there a way to set gmail invites to be private by default? Google help says that if your calendar is set to private (mine is) then all invites will be private too. That is not the case though - when my husband receives an invite in outlook and he has to manually change it to private. So short of using my pc for all invites (where i can manually set them to private each time) is there a way to do this on the dinc?

Htc Incredible - Hearing Noise Like Two Screws Tapping Together When Set Phone Down / Stop It

My phone is in my pocket often as i leave my desk at work; no need to leave my gem out in the open alone.

When i set the phone down on hard surfaces, i can hear a bit of a noise almost like two screws tapping together. What i think is, it may be the device that makes the phone vibrate.

My real question is if i can feel the phone hitting against my leg as i walk around, is that going to break anything overtime? Or did that create this rogue noise i hear when i set the phone down? Leaning towards paranoia, but wanted to see what i could get!

Htc Incredible - Set A Default Group Like "my Contacts" (on Google)

I spent a nice amount of time on google sorting my contacts by groups so it's neat and being i dont have a landline i have numbers in there that i dont ever call but i need to kepp them. And i know smart dial searches everyone if they are in a group or not.

My question is: is there a way to set a default group like "my contacts" (on google) when you go into your contacts insteal of "all contacts" (on the incredible)?

On google all the people who are in my contacts just fall under "all" even google considers it a "group"

Or maybe just put all of them in a new group and set it to default to that group?

Htc Desire - Unroot Using Unrevoked 3.21 Clarification

Read up on some earlier posts which spoke about removing (un-installing) a couple of apps - which come as a result of running unrevoked - and rebooting the device. Result -> back to un-rooted device. I assume this applies to an older version of unrevoked. I used unrevoked 3. 21. It rooted my device without wiping the existing data. But if at all i wish to unroot, i guess there is only one option - reinstall an official rom. The "superuser permissions" app does not have an un-install option.

Htc Evo 4g - Method For Rooting Phone Other Than Unrevoked

Had my evo rooted with unrevoked, but noticed a few glitches, read up on it, and decided to uninstall it. I want to root, but at the moment, it seems as if ever method i look at has some kind of unrevoked method as part of the instructions.

Is there a legitimate method, adb shell or otherwise out there, other than unrevoked? This is no bash against the developers of unrevoked; just would rather go a more "traditional" route.

Sprint Htc Hero - Phone Takes Forever To Turn On

It takes about 3 minutes from the time i press the power button to the home screen to fully load. Is this normal?

I bought it new and its been like this since i bought it. Is there anything to speed it up? Its not a big deal, its just kind of annoying. I had a blackberry before this and it took no more than 30 seconds to turn on so i figured the same for an android phone.

Uma On Htc Phones

I live in the middle of the city but the phone signal from orange uk is terrible. I was thinking of changing to vodafone in the summer and buying one of their access gateways that plugs into your broadband and acts like a mini cellular tower for your home, but then i heard about uma.

Anyone seen anything about uma and htc phones? I'm pretty sure the hero doesn't have it in the uk. And has anyone used it on a previous phone? If so, does it work well? There seem to be conflicting reports.

Also, i'm wondering, in general, do you think the hero provides good signal reception? I seem to find myself out of signal a lot and am beginning to wonder if it's the phone's performance, rather than the network's.

Htc Desire - After Rooting Htc Desire With T-mod Using Unrevoked

Ever since rooting with unrevoked i've had 2 basic problems, one i've fixed but think is still there in the background, the other is always there.

Problem 1 - when i first powered my phone on after rooting, it seemed exactly the same as it was before (same htc sense layout, all icons the same) but pressing the home button brought up the "complete this action using. " Option, with htc sense as one option, and the standard one (sorry, i cant think of what it's called) as the other. If i chose sense, i got my old home screens back, all my old icons, etc. If i chose the other one, i got a fresh vanilla(i think?) Home screen. Unfortunately i've clicked "remember my answer" or something, so it always goes to the vanilla one and i've made a new home screen now, but does this mean my sense ui is always running in the background? I thought at first i may have installed onto the wrong partition, and downloaded quick system info to check (saw it suggested by a forum member) but couldnt find anywhere in quick system info that it told me what partition my rom was installed.

Problem 2 - i've set my connect to pc setting to charge only, but every time i connect it it's connecting as a disk drive (my computer senses it as a disk drive, annoying popups asking me what i want to do, etc). I'm thinking that my phone could possibly still be running my old ui in the background (ref. Problem 1) and that's been set to automatically connect as disk drive?

C2dm With Lower Api Level

For c2dm to work, a device clearly must be at api level 8. However, does this really require that the application be compiled at that level? None of the code to work with c2dm requires any apis at level 8. So would it be possible to have an app at a lower level, maybe api level 4 or 6, and have it try to do the c2dm registration? Maybe the registration fails on devices that are at a lower api level, and hopefully this can be detected so that an alternate mechanism could be used. However, shouldn't registration succeed for a device at api level 8 or higher? What i'm trying to do here is take advantage of c2dm while still compiling at level 4, so that my app can reach the most number of users. Ideally this is possible, and i can detect when the device is not capable of c2dm, and react accordingly.

Way To Receive Battery Level From Code

I'm wondering if there is more simple way to receive battery level from code. At the moment i'm using a broadcastreceiver registered at the context with a intentfilter on action_battery_changed, all this made by code. My androidmanifest.xml do not specifies about other filter or permission. In this way i would like to receive this information at runtime, i know that this intent action could be sent only by the system. But there is some way by specifing a permission in code or using androidmanifest.xml to achieve what i want? I want to have my battery level in my code, or sending a broadcast like action_battery_changed, or in some other way.
